Island Canine Care opened in June 2010 and pups have been meeting here and playing with friends since then.

Shane (owner) is a Certified Dog Trainer, Practiced Groomer and Dog Behaviour Specialist.  Shane has more than 25 years experience working with all breeds of dogs and is also certified in pet first aid. Although we no longer offer training classes we can share tips with you to help you along the way and share some great resources for you. 

Our certified dog groomer and groomer in training can help your best friend look and feel their best. 

Our Daycare team are one of a kind and we have a large play yard with lots of room for running, exploring and play. Lead by our other certified Dog Trainer Jesse, the team really knows how to look after the pups.  They play, exercise  and socialize in a safe, engaging environment. The team are right there interacting with the dogs and ensuring that all dogs are comfortable and the play level stays at a level where dogs are comfortable with each other.

We make sure that there is sufficient team members to the number of dogs we have in our care so all services must be pre-booked. 

Continued Education and industry. We continually keep up to date with industry standards and continued education. We take the time to take in dog industry trade shows, seminars, and other continued education and learning to improve our skill sets.  We also like to visit and get to know other like businesses on the island, province, country and through the USA to make connections with other canine professionals, understand what others are doing and grow.
